GFRC(Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) can be used for larger panels or smaller trim shapes. The major advantage of GFRC is its inherent lighter weight. For an equivalent panel size, a GFRC panel would weigh about 75% less than a precast panel. This weight saving can be very beneficial on elevated structures. GFRC can be supplied with most of the same finishes as you would expect in architectural precast concrete. Larger panles are generally fabricated with an integral welded structural steel stud frame work, so that connections to the structure are very similar to a precast panel. Smaller trim GFRC are generally fabricated as a "shell" without a steel stud frame.
